The agreement was about the provision of services for the collection of data in order to prepare the six-year-report of Republic of Cyprus to European Union (Reporting – 3rd Report of Republic of Cyprus) and most specifically the fulfilment of protocols for the evaluation of conservation status of natural habitat types listed in Annex I of Habitats Directive 92/43/EEC (reporting period 2013 – 2018). The protocols took into consideration all parameters for the evaluation of conservation status of land habitat types.

The agreement concerns the provision of services for the Supervision and Evaluation of the Conservation Status of Habitat Types and Species under the Habitats Directive 92/43/EEC in Cyprus. Its objective is to investigate the presence, record, monitor, and assess the conservation status (conservation degree by Natura 2000 site and conservation status at the national/biogeographical level) of:

1. All habitat types listed in Annex I of Directive 92/43/EEC, found in Sites of Community Importance (SCI) and Special Areas of Conservation (SAC) within the NATURA 2000 network of the country and/or their distribution range, excluding those classified as marine habitat types.
2. All flora and fauna species listed in Annexes II, IV, and V of Directive 92/43/EEC, found in SCI and SAC of the NATURA 2000 network of the country and/or their distribution range, excluding those classified as marine species.
