University Educators for Sustainable Development
The main aim of the project was to close the gab in the knowledge of the Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) competences of university educators and how these were supported and developed. The specific objectives of the project were:
- To map opportunities for university educators to develop ESD competences through professional development and identify how these competences can be best developed in order to enhance quality academic practice in the area of sustainability. More specifically, it identified leading practice in this area in Europe and developed a publication and online platform of resources to support changes to curriculum development and academic provision in universities.
- To frame and trial an academy for ESD in Higher Education in order to provide guidance to universities on how to support the development of ESD competences of educators.
