Preparation of the National Biodiversity Strategy for Cyprus
The main objective of the agreement was the preparation of National Biodiversity strategy for Cyprus. The Strategy was a resourceful, interdisciplinary report for the preparation of which was important the involvement of scientists of various areas of interest. For its preparation the team took into consideration the decisions and targets of several international conventions and directives but most specifically the Convention on Biological Diversity as well as all available information on the biodiversity of Cyprus.
The main aim of the Strategy was the creation of a tool for the rational management and conservation of biodiversity and deal with biodiversity loss in Cyprus.
